The Challenge
With many in-house developed systems, there was a high level of technical debt, making it difficult to change, enhance, and integrate.
No integration strategy resulted in a large number of point-to-point interfaces based on a variety of technologies, tools, and platforms. Additionally, there was limited documentation on the systems in place.
Our Solution
An automation team was integrated into the development team to leverage JavaScript and a hybrid framework (Test-Driven using Page Object Model) and create a seamless workflow. This partnership allowed us to design a robust system to automate testing processes efficiently, ensuring prompt integration of new requirements into the automated regression.
Adoption of MuleSoft Anypoint Platform
Our team implemented the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform as the client’s standard integration environment to replace fragmented, point-to-point connections with a centralized, API-led integration framework.
Integration with Legacy IBM i (AS/400)
The solution leveraged our proprietary IBM i (AS/400) Connector and Web Transaction Framework (WTF) to securely expose existing business logic and data from the legacy ERP system without disrupting day-to-day operations.
API-Led Connectivity Architecture
The team followed MuleSoft’s API-led connectivity approach, creating System APIs to access core IBM i data, Process APIs to orchestrate business logic, and Experience APIs to serve front-end applications and external partners. This approach ensured reusability, modularity, and future scalability.
Hybrid On-Premise Deployment
The client chose to start with an on-premise MuleSoft runtime, offering enhanced control, security, and governance while maintaining flexibility for future cloud or hybrid deployments.
Cross-Platform Expertise
