The Challenge
The client faced a challenge with their payment processing system, where users needed to apply payments to returned checks. If a payment was recorded in error and had to be deleted, the check’s status should have reverted from “Paid in Full” to its previous status. However, the system did not update the check’s status after the payment was deleted, causing discrepancies in payment records and status tracking. This issue led to confusion and inaccurate financial reporting.
